Gretsch Custom Shop guitars are generally quite few and far between. Built under the watchful eye of master luthier Stephen Stern, they are regarded as some of the finest, most detail orientated Custom Shop instruments out there, with a price tag to match. This 2016 Gretsch Stephen Stern Masterbuilt Duo Jet is a great example of the work produced by the Gretsch Custom Shop, featuring a very lightly aged black finish with the kind of lightly buffed, dulled ebony finish that usually comes with years of playing, The Maple neck features a slim 'D' profile and vintage style hump block pearl inlays, while the body is fitted with a set of TV Jones handwound PAF FilterTron humbuckers that have a typically Gretsch tone, with a punchy upper and mid frequency range and a tight bass response, making them perfect for a range of styles. The open gear Gotoh tuners add to the vintage look of this guitar, while the Gretsch B6-C Bigsby vibrato gives you subtle warbling vibrato at the tip of your fingers. This guitar also includes a tweed Gretsch hardcase.
This guitar is in very good condition, and is internally and externally original. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
