2016 Gibson Doves In Flight

Introduced in 1962, the Gibson Dove followed in the footsteps of the Hummingbird as another top of the range square shoulder dreadnought, featuring the signature Gibson maple backed top end tone paired with a unique decorative pick guard design that makes the Dove such a recognisable model. This 2016 Gibson Doves In Flight was a limited edition model that took the luxury nature of the Dove to the next level, with 28 individually engraved dove inlays—seven on the headstock, 16 on the fingerboard, three on the pick guard, and two on the bridge—each with its own original design. The Doves In Flight showcases the very finest work of Gibsons most skilled luthiers, with each Dove hand engraved including one on each of the gold Grover tuners.  

The body is constructed from a Sitka Spruce top with subtly flamed Maple back and sides, along with hand scalloped X bracing and a nitro finish for optimal resonance. The Maple neck features a comfortable rounded profile and Ebony fingerboard, with other features including all gold hardware, a traditional Dove style bridge and an ornate pick guard with a design unique to the Doves in Flight model. This guitar is in excellent, all original condition and also includes its original case. 

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by the luthier at the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
