The 1950's guitar boom saw some of the finest electric solid body guitars ever made, with all of the truly iconic models finding their audience throughout the decade. The Gibson Les Paul is one of the most important instruments of this period, with the early Black Les Paul Customs, Gold Tops and 'Bursts' going on to become some of the most sought after vintage guitars on the market, This 2010 Gibson Custom Shop '56 Les Paul is a fantastic example of the stellar work of the Gibson Custom Shop, giving a truly vintage playing experience for a fraction of the cost.
This '56 Les Paul reissue showcases the model at a pivotal point in its history, with the 1956 Les Paul being the only production year that combined the Gold Top, P90 pickup configuration with the reliability offered by the adjustable ABR-1 bridge. This guitar features a Mahogany body and neck along with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and a chunky fat C shaped neck profile for an authentic vintage feel. The two custom wound Soapbar P90 pickups recreate the vintage tone that is so loved by players of all styles, with a good vintage P90 sound easily covering everything from blues and rock to jazz playing. This guitar is finished with period correct appointments, including cream , single line Kluson tuners and gold top hat controls knobs.
This guitar is in excellent condition, with barely any signs of play wear to speak of. This guitar also includes its original custom shop hard case and all paperwork and case candy.
