2006 Epiphone Riviera
2006 Epiphone Riviera
Korean made Epiphone guitars are often held in exceptionally high regard, and along with the '90s made Japanese counterparts are thought by many players to be as close as the reissue Epiphone guitars have ever been to the quality of their original '60s guitar. Manufactured by Peerless in South Korea, the semi hollow body is constructed from 3 ply Maple laminate and is finished in a Heritage Cherry lacquer. The mini humbucker pickups have a typically warm and balanced sound with greater clarity and top end than a standard humbucker, while the neck has a slim feel and is easy to get around, much like the later '60s Epiphone neck profiles. The Riviera was one of the top of the line models offered by Epiphone at the time, and as such features a sleek looking Frequensator tailpiece and pearl crest headstock inlay and fret markers.
