1998 James Trussart Steel Deville Rust-O-Matic
1998 James Trussart Steel Deville Rust-O-Matic
Luthier James Trussart has rightly gained a reputation as one of the industries most revolutionary guitar makers, with his steel creations setting themselves apart as much tonally as they do aesthetically. Originally manufactured in France, with the workshop moving to LA around 20 years ago, Trussart's guitars have found their way in to the hands of players as diverse as Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons and many more.
This 1998 Steel Deville Rust-O-Matic is a fantastic example of a Trussart guitar, built during the last few years of production in France, and exhibiting many of the features that these guitars are known for. The Rust-O-Matic finish is achieved by leaving the steel to be weathered by the elements for a number of weeks, before treating it to stop further corrosion and the hand sanding it to the desired finish. The Steel Deville model is loosely based around a Les Paul, with the steel bodied paired with a bolt on figured maple neck with a '59 standard' carve, and fitted with a set of Tom Holmes hand wound PAF style humbuckers. Other features include Tone Pros hardware and Gotoh tuners. This guitar includes its original case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
