1992 Gibson Explorer
1992 Gibson Explorer
First introduced in 1958, the Explorer has always been one of the more futuristic Gibson guitars out there. Initially released in incredibly limited numbers along with the Flying V, the Explorer was given a new lease of life by Gibson in the late '70s, and went on to become a favourite of heavy metal and hard rock players the world over. This 1992 Gibson Explorer is an excellent example of the model.
Constructed from a Mahogany body with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood board, this 1992 Explorer is fitted with a set of high output Pat.No Gibson Ceramic humbuckers, perfect for full on, overdriven rock tones while retaining plenty of note definition. The neck has a comfortable rounded slim taper, and the guitar also includes a Nashville style bridge and stop bar tailpiece, 3 ply white guard, and Gibson tuners.
This guitar is in very good, original condition, with some minor play wear and lacquer checking to the finish. This guitar has benefitted from a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and also includes a 3 year warranty.
