1991 Fender Stratocaster MIJ
Japanese made Fender instruments have long been the go-to for musicians looking for guitars with vintage Fender tone and style that won't cost as much as their USA made counterparts. Guitars made by Fender Japan in the '80s & '90s have become somewhat collectible in their own right, with an amazing build quality for the price. This 1991 Fender Stratocaster is a great example of an early '90s MIJ Stratocaster, and is based on a vintage '57 spec. The neck profile is a late '50s style Soft 'V', and the body features a single ply white guard with nicely aged pickup covers and backplate. The body is fitted with a set of vintage voiced single coil pickups, perfectly capturing the mellow chime of a golden era Stratocaster. The guitar has a great Surf Green finish with plenty of vintage vibe, although further inspection makes us think this may have been a Daphne Blue with a clear coat that has yellowed over time giving it the vintage green look, as some MIJ guitars from this period used nitro lacquer. Either way, it certainly looks the part!
This guitar is in very good, original condition, with minor signs of play wear to the finish on both the back and front. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
