1990 Gibson Firebird V
1990 Gibson Firebird V
First introduced in 1963, the Gibson Firebird was a guitar many years ahead of its time. Its futuristic reverse body and neck through body construction made it a unique guitar for the period, and while its initial tenure was short lived, it has cemented itself as a cult favourite in the years since. This 1990 Gibson Firebird V is a great reissue of the original, from an excellent period of Gibson electric production. Finished in a slightly yellowed Arctic White, this guitar is exceptionally clean, with very little play wear to speak of. The Firebird spec humbucker pickups a slightly hotter than their vintage equivalents, with a voicing that is at home with more modern rock playing as well '60s tones. Other features include a white pickguard sporting the Firebird decal, nickel banjo style tuners, and a rosewood fingerboard with a comfortably chunky neck shape.
