1983 Yamaha SG 1000
1983 Yamaha SG 1000
Yamaha have long had a pedigree in the world of musical instruments, with their 1970s and '80s Japanese made guitars often regarded as some of the best to come out of the 'lawsuit era.' This 1983 Yamaha SG 1000 is a fantastic example of exactly that, with a build quality and tone that would rival any of its American made competitors of the time. The SG 1000 was one of two double cutaway electric guitars produced by Yamaha in Japan from 1976 onwards, and features a solid mahogany body & neck with a maple top and ebony fretboard. The body is fitted with a pair of vintage voiced alnico humbuckers with a push-pull pot to coil split each pickup, gold hardware and Schaller tuners, and a vibrant cherry sunburst finish.
This guitar is in very good condition with some minor signs of play wear on the back of the body. The cherry sunburst top is still nice and vibrant, although the back shows some minor signs of lacquer reacting to moisture.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
