Yamaha have long had a pedigree in the world of musical instruments, with their 1970s Japanese made guitars often regarded as some of the best to come out of the 'lawsuit era.' This 1979 Yamaha SG 1000 is a fantastic example of exactly that, with a build quality and tone that would rival any of its American made competitors of the time. The SG 1000 was one of two double cutaway electric guitars produced by Yamaha in Japan from 1976 onwards, and features a solid mahogany body & neck with a maple top and ebony fretboard. The body is fitted with a pair of vintage voiced alnico humbuckers, and the guitar is finished with pearl fretboard inlays and headstock logo.

This guitar is in very good condition with some minor signs of play wear on the back of the body. The finish is still nice and vibrant, and the frets have plenty of life. This guitar is internally and externally original, and includes its original case.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
