1975 Guild D-50
1975 Guild D-50
Introduced as a custom order instrument in 1968 before being added to the full catalog in 1974, the Guild D-55 was the companies top of the line dreadnought acoustic, designed to compete with guitars like the Martin D-28 at the time. Constructed from a Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood back and sides, the D-50 paired this more polished, balanced sound with the typical workhorse nature fo Guild acoustics, offering excellent build quality that holds it own against Gibson and Martin acoustics of the time. This 1978 Guild D-50 was manufactured in the Westerly, Rhode Island factory and is in very good condition, and an excellent example of the value that can be found in vintage Guild guitars.
This D-50 has a beautiful top end response with a great deal of projection, along with a tight bass that works excellently for both strumming and finger style playing alike. The neck has a comfortable profile and is neither too slim nor too chunky. This guitar has also had and LR Baggs Anthem pickup system fitted.
This guitar is in very good all original condition with minimal play wear, and includes a hard case.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
