1971 Martin D-18
1971 Martin D-18
Introduced in 1932, the Martin D-18 his the original working musicians dreadnought acoustic guitar, and was the entry point of the Martin dreadnought range for a number of years. This model from 1971 is a fantastic example of an affordable vintage Martin, featuring a nicely aged Spruce top and Mahogany back, sides & neck. The D-18 has a more stripped back, roots-y look than other Martin dreadnoughts of the time, but still has all the beautifully balanced, rounded tonal character.
This guitar is in excellent condition, with some play wear to the top and back, and lacquer ageing to the Spruce. This guitar is all original with the exception of the pick guard, which has been replaced. Our luthiers have also repaired a pick guard top crack as is common on these models. This guitar includes a non original hard case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service & setup by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
