1972 Martin 00-18
The steel string 00-18 first started to appear in the Martin line up in the mid 1920's, after years of variations of the Style 18 model from the mid 18th century onwards. The classic Spruce top, mid size 00 body shape design is one of the most played small body acoustics of the 20th century, with a beautifully resonant, balanced tone that often belies their smaller size. This 1972 Martin 00-18 is a great example of a later period 00-18. Constructed from a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, this guitar has a lightweight build that makes it very punchy and dynamic, responding very well to both finger style playing and flat picking. This model also features the black pick guard and binding as found on these later models.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only the most minor signs of play wear visible on the finish. The guitar is in all original condition, and retains its original case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this 1972 00-18 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
