Introduced in 1951, the Fender Precision Bass was the first solid body electric bass guitar ever produced, and is undoubtedly the most popular bass guitar design throughout music history. The Precision Bass has long been the go bass guitar in studio and on stage, with its stripped back design, minimal controls and split coil pickup offering a huge amount of versatility for a variety of styles.

This 1972 Precision Bass is a typical example of an early '70s Fender bass, showcasing both the aesthetic and manufacturing changes that came in to place during the CBS era. This Precision Bass features an Alder body with a Maple neck and fingerboard, with a slightly narrower nut width than found oon '60s or '50s models. The body is finished in a vibrant 3 tone Sunburst that has retained all of its colour, and sports the kind of play wear and patina that gives this bass a great vintage vibe. The neck features the four bolt design, and the body is finished off with a nice vintage celluloid pick guard and traditional P Bass split coil pickup.

This guitar is in very good condition, with minimal amounts of play wear and patina for a guitar of its age. The guitar is internally and externally original with the exception of the pickup, which is original to the guitar but has been rewound.

This guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty. This guitar also includes a hard case.
