1966 Fender Mustang
1966 Fender Mustang
Originally introduced as Fender's mid '60s flagship student model, the Fender Mustang has become a favourite of players of all styles due to its comfortable short scale design and its unique sound, due in part to the pickup phase switching only found on this model.
This 1967 Mustang is a fantastic example, and is in all original condition. The neck date is September '66, with the original pots dating to the 44th week of '66 and the grey bottom pickups dating to the start of 1967. The pearl pickguard and all other hardware is also original and in great condition. The maple neck features a veneer Rosewood board and the typical smaller neck shape found on Mustang guitars, making it particularly comfortable to play.
The original blue lacquer finish shows obvious signs of play wear, with the lacquer top coat yellowing and giving a slightly greener hue to the majority of the body, with the vibrant blue showing through in areas of play wear, as well as being clearly visible under the pickguard. This guitar also includes its original case.
As with all vintage instruments, this 1967 Fender Mustang has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
