Guild guitars from the '50s and '60s are often some of the most under appreciated guitars on the vintage market in our opinion, with the Hoboken, NJ made models making for some of the best quality, relatively affordable and unique vintage instruments out there. This 1963 Guild S-100 is an excellent example of the first generation of the S-100 model, from the first production year.

The S-100 was introduced alongside the S-200 Thunderbird and S-50 Jet-Star in 1963 as three revolutionary new designs in the solid body electric guitar market. This guitar is from the first production year, and features an unusual asymmetrical body shape and headstock design, along with a built in kick stand on the rear of the body. This guitar is fitted with a set of distinctive Guild 'Anti-Hum' P90 style pickups, offering excellent clarity and a surprising amount of warmth and roundness. Other features include the original open gear Waverley tuners, pearloid crest headstock inlay, and a Guild designed vibrato tailpiece.

This guitar is in excellent condition, with only the most minor amounts of patina and ageing to the finish and metal parts. There is some minimal play wear to the rear of the neck, and the headstock veneer has previously lifted in places and been re-glued. The electronics, finish and hardware are all original and in full working order, and this guitar retains its original Guild hardcase.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
