1963 Guild F-50 Navarre

In the world of vintage guitars, few instruments seem to be as under appreciated as Hoboken made Guilds. We are massive fans of them in store, and are firmly of the opinion that they offer a tone, build quality and level of finishing as good, if not better, than any other guitar contemporary of the period.

This 1963 Guild F-50 Navarre is a perfect example of just this. Constructed from a Maple top and arched Maple back, these jumbo sized flat top acoustics have an incredibly powerful sound. This guitar in particular is incredibly resonant and balanced, and particularly light weight for a Guild acoustic if this period, which no doubt adds to its airy tone. The Maple neck features a beautifully bound fingerboard with typically ornate pearl block inlays with 'V' inserts. As with all early '60s models, the headstock features the Guild shield logo inlay, and Kolb tuners with a beautiful floral inlay and pearl buttons that really help to set this guitar apart from others.

This guitar is in very good cosmetic condition, and has sustained some work over its life. At some point in the early 2000's, the spruce top was replaced, although this work has been done to an exceptional level and certainly does not compromise the tone of the instrument. It has had a period correct replacement bridge at some point in its life, and the work has been carried out to a high standard. This also retains its original hard case.
