1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior
1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior
Since their introduction in 1954, the Gibson Les Paul Junior has been the epitome of a stripped back solid body guitar, with the focus purely on a great sound and unmatched playability. Despite the lack of tonal options, these guitars are incredibly versatile, and have found their way in to the hand of many players across a range of styles. This 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior is a good, player grade example from this period.
Featuring a slab Mahogany body finished in a Sunburst lacquer, this guitar is in good condition with a fair amount of play wear and patina. The original dog ear P90 has been rewound and is back to sounding its punchy, articulate best. This guitar has a replacement wraparound bridge, though the posts are original. The majority of the wiring is original, although a non original bridge ground has been added., The original C-D cub capacitor is present and correct, along with the IRC tone pot that date to the 22nd week of 1956. The volume pot has been changed, and this guitar has been fitted with repro no line Kluson tuners and reflector knobs. The pickguard is correct, and this guitar includes a later period Gibson case.
