The Gibson ES-125 was the companies entry level electric arch top from its introduction in 1941, and still represents excellent value in the vintage market as a relatively affordable vintage Gibson arch top from the Golden era of the companies manufacturing electric guitar manufacturing. This 1954 Gibson ES-125 is a wonderful example of the thicker body ES-125 design found predominantly in the 1950s. Featuring a maple top in Sunburst with Mahogany back and side alogn with a Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fingerboard, this guitar plays effortlessly and has a typical early '50s Gibson neck profile, with a chunkier feel that is very playable. A single original Dog Ear P-90 in the neck position offers plenty of warmth with a good amount of bite when put through a cranked amp, with this particular one sounding slightly more defined and hotter than others we have heard.

This guitar is in very good condition, with minor signs of play wear and some patina and checking to the top and back of the body and the back of the neck. All electronics and hardware are original, as is the trapeze and bridge. The tuners have been replaced with later '50s Kluson single lines, and the pick guard has been replaced, although we believe it to be from a similar period.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and set up by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and includes our 3 year warranty.
