1951 Gibson BR9 Lapsteel & Amp Set
If you were an aspiring steel player in the 1940's & 50's, the Gibson BR9 Lap Steel was probably the instrument you dreamed of owning. These Lap Steels were introduced in 1947, and featured a single pickup six string configuration. This Gibson BR9 is an undeniably stylish instrument, and as with most Lap Steels of this period has a sort of mid-century modern styling to it. Finished in cream with a Cremona brown lucite pickup cover and fingerboard, along with two radio style knobs for volume and tone controls.
This 1951 Gibson BR9 lap steel & amp set is in fantastic, all original condition, and is in near mint cosmetic condition. Both lap steel and amp are internally original, with all hardware and electronics on the lapsteel as they should be, and the original Jensen speaker sounding especially good on the amp. As with all our vintage instruments, this Gibson BR9 set has been given a full service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and includes a three year warranty. The original case is also included.
