1913 Gibson A4 Mandolin
1913 Gibson A4 Mandolin
This 1913 Gibson A4 Mandolin is a very early example of one of the company's top of the line A style models, with an incredibly woody and resonant tone. This Gibson A4 Mandolin is finished in black with red stained mahogany back and sides and features the typical symmetrical teardrop body shape found on Gibson Mandolins of this period. The A4 features 'The Gibson' headstock logo and flour de lis crest design, along with inlaid tuner buttons, 'the Gibson' logo tailpiece and an elevated celluloid pick guard.
This mandolin is in exceptional condition for an instrument that is over a century old, and shows only minor signs of play wear and patina to the finish. The instrument has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
